Removal of signature CVM for Contactless transactions in Canada

American Express is removing signature as a valid Cardholder Verification Method (CVM) for Contactless transactions. No later than July 22, 2021, terminals supporting Expresspay must no longer support Signature as a Cardholder Verification Method.

To better position Issuers and Merchants in the changing landscape of employee mobility, EMV at fuel pumps in the U.S, and the traction of Electric Vehicles, Visa is introducing significant data enhancements to the Visa Fleet product platform.

Will require support of enhanced prompt data via Conexxus standard DF tags

Support of Applicable AIDs (WEX/Voyager) and Enhanced Fleet Prompts 

Region: Americas | United States

Both WEX and Voyager will now support EMV for their Fleet portfolios.

This coincides with the Brands AFD EMV Mandate.

For Fleet Prompts, Tag 57 (Track 2 equivalent) will be replaced by Tag ‘9F6E’ (Voyager/Mastercard) and new Conexxus standard DF tags (WEX/Visa).
