Position summary: 

Verifone Cloud Services are in process of refreshing the entire estate (over 5,000 VM’s) to latest edition Operating Systems, including Windows Server 2019 and VMWare vSphere 7 hypervisor. The growth and use of next-gen technology warrants expansion of the existing Server team. This position is an exciting prospect for any ambitious engineer wishing to work with the latest technologies to drive impeccable standards via automated techniques. Additionally, Verifone is using next generation composable server technology, with an opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to providing our customers with a highly resilience, scalable and secure compute platform. 


  • supports and maintains all HPE compute (Blade Systems, Rack servers, etc.)  and VMware vSphere infrastructure across multiple datacenters,
  • leads Windows Domain Architecture and Design changes and improvements,
  • Install, manage and troubleshoot Windows Server 2008-2019, Active Directory (Group Policies, DNS, Trusts), CA, WSUS, WSFC, 
  • provide operational support and management of various VCS systems and services (Windows Server 2008/20012/20016/2019, VMware vSphere),
  • develop, improve and optimize the performance of IT systems, devices and services in the VCS enterprise environment,
  • participate in problem-solving efforts and offer ideas to solve client issues,
  • monitoring systems performance and ensure system availability and reliability,
  • work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the VCS infrastructure,
  • prepare technical documentation and SLA reporting,
  • perform as part of a team providing 24/7/365 on-call support by responding to escalations and alerts,
  • participate in product evaluation initiatives including feature analysis and system trade-offs,
  • manage software using automation and orchestration tools (e.g., VMware vRealize, Puppet, Ansible),
  • provide support and input for PCI audits and security compliance,
  • study and understand all current and upcoming system requirements, including both fine-level details and overarching strategic goals, and communicate this information effectively to staff members and executives,


  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • proven hands-on experience with systems implementation and administration,
  • 10+ years’ experience with Microsoft Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory Server, CA,
  • 10+ years’ experience with VMWare vSphere virtualization technologies and HPE Blade Systems,
  • proven ability to write and implement PowerShell and PowerCLI scripts for automation,
  • hands-on experience with monitoring, IT systems and services diagnostic and analytics tools (e.g., Zabbix),
  • knowledge of Okta and RSA SecureID,
  • knowledge of backup systems (Veeam, Commvault),
  • knowledge of antivirus solutions such as CrowdStrike or TrendMicro,
  • automation experience using Puppet, Ansible and Chocolatey,
  • knowledge of Linux OS would be an advantage,
  • ITIL Foundation certification,
  • certifications related to MCSE, RHCE and VMWare are preferred,
  • familiarity with compliance standards such as PCI-DSS is highly preferred,
  • prior experience within the financial or credit card industry is preferred,
  • advanced analytical, design and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot system defects and mitigate the risks issues they cause,
  • knowledge of Networking components, Load Balancers, Firewalls, routers, switches, etc.,
  • highly proficient in creating and updating documentation as part of infrastructure implementations,
