TransitPAY is a rugged, reliable and secure solution that brings the power of VeriFone’s MX payment architecture to the transportation environment – enabling bus and subway customers to experience the speed and ease of using standard contactless and NFC payments. Designed for Open Payment Fare Collection, TransitPAY’s powerful MX 700 base terminal allows unlimited flexibility for ancillary, non-payment functions such as Bus Tracking and Customer Information Systems and On-Bus Communication Manager.

TransitPAY balances the strict security compliance requirements of the payment industry with an open systems architecture allowing unlimited functional flexibility with inherent security. TransitPAY provides agencies fare payments with a secure, open system solution that is future-proof and designed to meet tomorrow’s payment industry changes. Agencies will feel secure in knowing they have a solution that can accommodate new payment trends, changing PCI standards, and yet-to-be-defined on-bus equipment interfaces.

TransitPAY also includes VeriFone’s EMV Certified Gen3 contactless/NFC reader. This rugged, Transit-hardened reader has been architected for ease of installation and use on public transit buses and subways.

TransitPAY supports VeriFone’s industry-standard end-to-end encryption and tokenization solution, VeriShield Total Protect. VeriShield Total Protect, secured by RSA, immediately encrypts cardholder data prior to transmission using either a format-preserving encryption or software-downloadable PKI encryption. Post-authorization, card data is tokenized for transmission and storage, rendering the information worthless to thieves, but viable to applications requiring the original data structure. This combination of encryption and tokenization eliminates cardholder data from point-of-sale applications and networks, bringing you closer to PCI compliance and reducing PCI scope.
