Secure
The MX 830, MX 850, MX 880 feature a recessed keyboard, which means the privacy shield is small and unobtrusive. As a result, it provides easy access to the keyboard for PIN entry as well as being out of the way for customer signature. Competitive products have been poorly designed, either restricting finger access to the keypad or making signature capture impossible when implemented. As part of VeriFone’s commitment to payment security and standards, we made sure our privacy shield design allowed for easy PIN entry and customer signature, ensuring it would remain intact and enable our retailers to meet the letter of the law. All four products had PCI PED approval from the moment they were released. They were designed from day one to meet the toughest security requirements, not modified to support less secure compensatory controls. The MX 870 is the only PCI PED approved device to accept PIN entry via the touch screen. All are EMV certified Level 1 and 2 Smart Card Reader

All of the MX 800 Series devices have a chemically-hardened glass screen, four times stronger than competitive
product screens (tempered glass) which inhibits any scratching or marring and makes the product look as good years from now as it does today. In addition, a simple capacitive stylus without electronics or moving parts inside ensures a longer life as well as inexpensive replacement.
