The PCI PED approved Vx 510 offers superior performance for payment and value-added applications—and dramatically reduces transaction time to just a few seconds. Part of VeriFone's Vx Solutions portfolio, it leverages existing SoftPay and Verix applications to allow merchants to get up and running quickly and efficiently.
The Vx 510’s backlit display, easy-to-read menu prompts and intuitive, ATM-style interface reduce the chance of entry errors. In addition, its integrated high-speed thermal printer and internal PIN pad keep countertops clutter-free.
For U.S. and Canadian merchants, the Vx 510 includes Ethernet and 12 MB of memory. In Canada, it is also Interac certified and available with a smart card reader.
For merchants outside the U.S. and Canada, the Vx 510 includes a smart card reader to handle data-intensive EMV transactions plus a choice of dial or dial + Ethernet connectivity, 0 or 3 SAMs, and 3 MB or 6 MB of memory. The Vx 510LE is just what U.S. merchants want, and everything they need! This hard-working, reliable payment device efficiently processes debit and credit transactions. Plus, as a part of Vx Solutions, it is an extension of what you already know. Its ATM-style interface is instantly intuitive, requiring virtually no training. The lightweight, ergonomic device with integrated thermal printer and a built-in PIN pad can be easily handed to customers for PIN entry.
VeriFone's Vx Solutions provide merchants with a variety of payment options including gift, loyalty, credit, debit and more. Value-added software applications further expland capabilities including prepaid phone cards, age verifcation and collection of VAT.

 Security Certifications
The PCI PED standard applies to companies that make devices that accept PIN entry. Certified PED (PIN Entry Device) laboratories validate adherence to the PED standard, which has requirements for device characteristics and management. Merchants and service providers should ensure that they are using certified PED devices.
The EMV standards are a series of specifications and testing procedures for EMV chip payment cards and card accepting devices, such as point of sale (POS) terminals and ATMs. A primary goal of the EMV standards, and EMVCo as an organization, is to help facilitate the global interoperability and compatibility of chip-based payment cards and payment terminals.
Interac Association is responsible for the development and operations of the Inter–Member Network (IMN), a national payment network that allows Canadians to access their money through Automated Banking Machines and Point–of–Sale terminals across Canada.
