VeriFone Africa supplies and supports payment systems for banking, retail, petroleum and other vertical markets in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean islands through hardware, value-added services and end-to-end estate management solutions. In addition to offering the full range of VeriFone hardware payment solutions, VeriFone Africa develops solutions and services specifically for the South Africa and Sub-Saharan markets to ensure ongoing compliance with card industry specifications and to meet market needs.
VeriFone Africa formed in July 2011 after VeriFone acquired CSC, a “trading as” division of Destiny Electronic Commerce (Pty) Ltd. CSC was the sole VeriFone accredited and authorised partner in South Africa (also known as a VIP – VeriFone International Partner), where they were a leading provider of secure payment technologies, services and solutions at the point of sale for over 19 years.
Applications
Estate Management
VeriFone Alieno is responsible for the complete management of a POS estate, which involves a connection from the POS device to Alieno at predetermined time intervals in order to enable a series of services to be performed. Alieno's interface is published to allow customers with their own POS applications to make use of the product. Alieno’s features include:

POS Applications
VeriFone Africa’s POS applications include:
- Expendo – used for the acceptance of credit and debit card, EMV, magnetic stripe and contactless transactions on a countertop or standalone POS payment device.
- Servus - exposes a set of commands that can be executed by a third party Transaction Driving System (TDS) to complete transactions, used predominantly by multi-lane retailers.
- Solus – used for unattended environments where the transaction is cardholder initiated.
- Pretium – used in conjection with Expendo, Pretium allows merchants to sell vouchers for products such as mobile airtime
Support Services
Field Support Technicians
VeriFone Africa’s field support technicians are fully mobile and equipped to attend to calls from anywhere within this operating region. Technicians provide onsite support and service to merchants in the form of terminal deployment, installation, training, repairs and upgrades.
Customer Call Centre
The customer call centre is operated by a team of skilled technical staff who handle support queries and fault reporting. The call centre is comprised of a fully integrated call logging system operated by our support staff, admin desk staff and on-call technicians operating around the country. Providing flexible operating hours, the call centre is 100% scalable and well equipped to handle any crisis situation that may arise.
VeriFone Africa offers other support services such as embedded software development, hardware repair and operates a secure centre for key injection.
