Payment Card Industry PIN Transaction Security (PCI PTS) requirements (formerly PCI PED) apply to manufacturers who specify and implement device characteristics and management for PIN entry devices used for payment card financial transactions. Certified PTS laboratories validate adherence to the standard. Merchants should only use PIN entry devices that are tested and approved by the PCI SSC.
