The Software QA Engineer is involved in the development and execution of tests for the embedded Operating System of the VeriFone products. This position is considered an entry-level to junior-level position.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Executes software test plans, test cases and test matrices.
  • Designs, develops and executes test applications when required.
  • Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of the software under test.
  • Performs analysis of test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.
  • Consults with the development engineers and other SQA engineers in resolution of problems.
  • Maintains test data, test equipment and test environment.
  • Complies with standard test guidelines and practices.
  • Identifies testing issues and tracks them to closure.
  • Alerts the development team on major quality issues.
Job Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science or related field required.
  • Good communication skills in English (both written and oral).
  • Good in C/C++ programming (knowledge in PERL is a plus).
  • Good understanding of the software development life cycle.
  • At least 1 year experience in embedded systems or software development and testing.
  • Experience in designing, developing and executing tests (functional and systems tests).
  • Knowledge of software testing techniques.
  • Knowledge of hardware testing techniques.
  • Good analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Should be a team player.
  • Can work independently and self-motivated.
