The NPI Planner will have primary responsibility to support component buys (either directly or through an ODM) throughout the various NPI stages as well as schedule and coordinate NPI production builds to ensure pipeline continuity. The NPI Planner will also be the gatekeeper, escalating issues through the appropriate OPM to ensure AML compliance, selection of preferred parts & driving dual sourcing in component selection for our products.

Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Overall Materials Management from I/D to MR. Track and report Material Issue Status for each build and drive resolution of issues.
  • Primary VeriFone NPI Materials Contact for CMs.
  • Develop and report Material Plan, including management of key/high risk material.
  • Gains approvals & drives risk buys for components, assemblies and/or products.
  • Working from Supply Base guidelines, ensures identified preferred suppliers and preferred parts are sourced for new products.
  • Drives dual sourcing for appropriate components on new products. Reports status & escalates issues.
  • Provide BOM cost for the RFQ to CM for each build.
  • Communicate BOM releases to CM. Expedites R&D for release as needed to support proto builds.
  • Ensure numeric revision parts are alpha released by PR (earliest) and SMR (latest).
  • Manage lab prototype procurement activity.
  • Obtain material for consignment to CM as needed.
  • Assist CM with supply issues on critical components during proto builds.
  • Working with Supply Base and/or CMs, ensures critical/new parts have a supply plan to support pre-release builds and the production ramp.
  • Present or provide the Materials update and summary for program reviews.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree + 2 years directly related experience OR 10 years related experience.
  • Working knowledge of Procurement practices as well as demand and/or supply planning experience working with major ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP. In depth knowledge and expertise in the use of Excel and the Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in working independently in a complex and dynamic manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple organizations and functions. Excellent written, verbal, organizational, presentation and analytic skills.
  • Experience with China based manufacturing providers/sites highly desirable.
  • High volume consumer electronics experience highly desirable.
