Senior level with in-depth technical knowledge and expertise that extend their competencies to help train junior engineers, solve difficult design and quality problems for product and recommend strategic product development plan included technology research. Performs complex, high impact engineering tasks; solves highly complex and broad reaching problems. Determines and develops approaches to assignments and/or the development of new products. Demonstrates technical leadership Participates in strategic technology planning. Solves technical problems of high impact/value to the company. Oversees the design of major development / product initiatives to maintain architectural integrity. Recognized technical expert in and outside the company. Provides technical consultation and training. From technical side: provide input to manager and executive for product architecture, development strategy, key component selection and technology selection.

• Conduct complex and difficult mechanical design per project milestones to meet the requirement outlined in marketing product requirement document.
• Participate to review definitions for new products and provides innovative solutions to a problem which is common to an entire product or product line to determine direction for product development.
• Provide mechanical design consultancy as back-up for junior engineers, a go-to person that young engineer can depend upon.
• Conducts or participates in the study, investigation or analysis and resolution of problems involving reliability, manufacturability, or quality assurance problems as they relate to the integrity of the design to ensure accurate data that are helpful for determining root cause of failure and problem prevention.
• Participate in competitive analysis, e.g. cost/feature benchmarking, design evaluation and critique, etc.. Thorough comparison between competitor's and VeriFone product in terms of function, feature and cost.

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred from four-year College or university; or 7 plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Requires a minimum of 7 years experience related engineering experience.
• ME CAD tool (Solid Works and/or Pro-E) or 6 months to become proficient.
• General knowledge of office procedures and good PC, word processing, and typing skills.
• Outstanding troubleshooting skills coupled with the ability to effectively drive complex technical issues to closure.
• Ability to work in a fast -paced and swiftly changing environment.
• Ability to work on a team. Night/Weekend/holiday hours and travel required from time to time. Strong Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Technical leadership skills.
