Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Provide detailed testing process guidelines to the development groups and evaluate the CM process to ensure all testing requirements are met.
  • Participate in the development and integration of products to support the testing of new products design.
  • Ensure that product design and manufacturing requirements are met by the CM testing & manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for DFT requirements (provide DFT guidance during product design).
  • Ability to develop test S/W diagnostics.
  • Interface with VFI Design Engineering and CM for all technical issues related to product testing and manufacturing including quality requirements.
  • Provide training to CM related to VFI product - documentation and test & manufacturing requirements.
  • Review new product releases for production readiness.
  • Assure and control product and test process quality through detailed written procedures and work instructions.
  • Support Service centers in repairing and testing of products.
  • Design / define fixture for FVT or ICT test jigs.
  • Ability to develop test S/W diagnostics and test S/W application for Linux based OS (flash, Embedded firmware, drivers and integrations).
  • R/C and Failure analysis of products and sub-assembly (including returned units from field).
  • Implement new tests and improve existing test processes at CM's.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in EE or Computer Science.
  • Above 4 years of experience in test engineering and test S/W development.
  • Required mix of HW and strong SW skills.
  • Experience in evaluating and developing test manufacturing processes in parallel with engineering development.
  • Experience with tools such as lab view and other types of commercially available software tools.
  • Proven problem solver in a manufacturing environment with a test process engineering background.
  • History of developing test processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain high quality work.
  • Position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, involving dialog with worldwide VFI colleagues and CM partners.
  • In-depth understanding of electronic products Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Mfg Test Engineering processes.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of DFT principles and methods.
  • Creative with can-do attitude and the ability to get results.
  • Experience in application of mfg techniques, manufacturing engineering or product development.
  • Experience in working with outsourced manufacturing partners and ODM's.
  • Experience working with International suppliers.
  • Experience with electronic documentation management systems (PDM), Agile experience preferred.
